What Is a Serpent Chain?

The Serpent chain is MAISON AERO's evolved snake weave: tightly interlocked S-pattern links that form a fluid continuous surface with subtle visible texture. More visual interest than a plain snake chain, but quieter than a Cuban or Cable. A modern interpretation of an ancient weave style.

Who 2.5mm Serpent Is For

Minimalists who want a chain with visible craft. The S-pattern weave reads at close distance as deliberate textile-work rather than mass-produced link assembly. 2.5mm is the thinnest serious chain width in our catalog, so choose this if you want the chain to read as understated, structural, almost like a thread of woven titanium.

How to Wear It

22" length sits at the collarbone. Pairs with formal wear (the thinness keeps it dressed-up-friendly), minimalist daily wardrobes, and as the inner base layer in a layered look with a heavier outer chain.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Serpent different from a regular snake chain?

Serpent uses an S-pattern weave that produces subtle visible texture across the chain surface, while a plain snake chain has a uniform smooth profile. Serpent reads as more crafted at close distance; snake reads as cleaner from a distance.

Is 2.5mm too thin to wear alone?

No, but it reads as deliberately minimal. If you want the chain to be visually present at a distance, choose 3mm-5mm widths. If you want the chain to be sensed more than seen, 2.5mm is exactly right.

Can I layer this with another chain?

Yes. The thinness makes Serpent ideal as the underlayer in a layered look. Pair with a 5mm-7mm chain (Cuban, Keel, Cable) at a longer length (24"-26") for contrast.
